The Windows Phone Marketplace is gaining steam, the last time we checked it was little over 30,000 apps strong, now we are hearing that it has reached the 50,000 apps milestone. We can’t say we are that excited since from what we have been seeing from new apps added daily, there ate more RSS Feeds than anything else.
Criticism aside, this is good news for Microsoft, Nokia, and Windows Phone. The ecosystem needs to grow by any means necessary if Windows Phone is to keep up with the leading competitors. What’s also good is that the Android Market took 19 months to reach 50,000 apps, Windows Phone Marketplace only took 14, so that is something Microsoft can dub as a win.
Let’s hope that in the coming months, the sales of Windows Phone will experience massive growth with the help of Nokia, and maybe with the help RIM if Microsoft and Nokia should ever get their way.
